Lips curl up the slightest as Nate leans into the hand on his jaw, not a smile, not really even close to one, but somehow better than what it was before. He’d have to move a hand to wipe away the fluid slowly rolling down his face, so he doesn’t bother, instead mumbling again, ”I’ve got you.”
The nature of his ascension means that Nate doesn’t need to move again, that he can be solid and strong physically, even while he slowly crumbles apart emotionally. ”Do you-“ His voice nearly doesn’t come out, Nate pausing to clear his breath and try again. ”Do you want anything? A drink, or... anything?”
