And settling close beside him, above him, though he knows in some way that doesn’t quite make sense. What makes sense stops mattering though, as a hand presses against his forehead, the feeling so familiar he doesn’t even hesitate to lean against her, shivering as a cool breeze flows around him. ”Can I stay home from school then?” The words are small, hesitant, Nate wrapped up tightly in the swaddle of delusions again.
