Had Bastien asked of her history, she more than likely would have been easily persuaded to tell him. When she arrived in Caido it had been a big secret, a giant “C” marking branded into her neck that she had hoped to keep hidden from everyone. But Archebold had seen it, Alistair had seen it, even Kaladin too. She had learned quickly it was hard to keep secrets in this town and had begun to tell people a more round about story of it to try and keep the gossip on the low end. Thankfully Frey had been kind enough to her to remove the brand – to allow her to feel herself with others and not have to explain that brutal marking that had marred her skin for years. She found herself watching him as he spoke of the charcoal and sketches, and she broke a slight smile across her face. “Yes, exactly. Many of the paintings back home were of previous royalty, but I found the most interesting ones to be the ones that told our history.” She paused thoughtfully, as she remembered the battles Halyven had been proud of long before the entire kingdom was sacked by her ruthless ex-husband. “They were full of so much emotion it was… sometimes hard to see them.” She offered, her sultry voice lingering on it despite the seriousness of the conversation. Luckily, before her mind swept her away to those dark places, Bastien was speaking of his own home. As he spoke of being all kinds of an artist, she smiled to him lightly. “You’re well rounded, it’s a great thing to be.” She hummed to him with a hardly noticeable nod. But then he was laughing, the kind of belly clutching laugh that had surprise cross her features lightly. Her smile broke wider and she laughed lightly with him. “Ah, I can’t say it’s not surprising.” She said with a wink. Whether Bastien believed her or not, she hadn’t entirely come in here planning to spend the night with him. She very much went with the flow, day by day. Her main mission for the day was to find out if his church was a place to break her curse – and with the answer, she simply decided to indulge in something that he enjoyed, whether it went further from here was something she was still flowing with. Offering him a smirk that tilted up the corner of her lips, she cleared her throat. “It wasn’t entirely my intention if that’s what you’re thinking. Though it’s hard not to with this curse.” She purred to him before laughing quietly. “Believe it or not, I’ve only been with one man since arriving here.” She added with a shocked expression she almost mocked. “Though I’ve flirted with a dozen or more.” She added with a wiggle of her eyebrows and another quiet chuckle.
