RONIN
the darkstar
The result is something of a half-and-half; Ronin manages to scramble and catch the Lullaby, only for him to end up shifting basically on top of him. The huntsman ends up slumped against the wall with Remi in his lap, his husband’s back snug against his chest, and he’s panting as he gazes up at Sugar. The dragon, for her part, is weaving her serpentine head at them, tasting the air with a forked tongue and letting out a chitter that might just be a laugh that it serves Remi right.
”Do it— what?” Ronin manages, frowning and rubbing at the alchemist’s arms to try and still his shivers. ”You can’t be serious.”
But Sugar is practically more for Remi than Ronin at this point, and she responds to the command by unfurling from the rafters and swooping down to him, winding herself about his shoulders to press her cold body against the back of his neck, her nose in perfect trajectory to breathe frost and freezing air across his brow.
