Kalt didn’t much care for the manticore creature, but luckily, Jigano was able to get them out of immediate danger with a little magic. Admittedly, Kalt wished his magic still worked, realizing that it didn’t when he couldn’t feel it at the tips of his fingers. However, it seemed the danger in one room was simply replaced by the danger of another. A king - or someone who looked like a storybook king - wore a jewel and a circlet, two items that stayed as the figure grew and changed from a man to a dragon. Because of course there were dragons. What was a good story without a few dragons?

Remi seemed to go after the jewel, and Isla was going after the circlet, so Kalt decided to cover Isla. Remi had armor and his regular body. It wasn’t that he thought Isla was less capable, but she was definitely less defended. He was ready with his hammer if the dragon tried to snap at the girl. Not exactly the smartest move, but Kalt had never really been the most self preserving person.
