Like a duck paddling furiously into triage mode, Falke brushes aside the wince with the truth; they need to get back to clinic. “Okay, then back down we go.” No muss, no outward fuss. “Though I’m afraid I can’t manage Finn, if he can’t carry himself,” he continues with a hushed tone, a grim look on his expression, which immediately brightens into a false sense of positivity when he looks into the room to see the patient.
“Hey there, Finn,” soothing, non-threatening, Tobi had the right of it, exactly the way one might talk to a scared and hurting pet. “Does that hurt? I’ve got something that can help, if you don’t mind a little pinprick.” There’s painkillers in his bag, of course, and he can see that Tobi’s done a good job of wrapping it up with what she’s got. The Fixer might have been able to kneel down to Finn’s level if he hadn’t just climbed a whole lot of stairs. But like many medical professionals, he can push his own pain and exhaustion away when it comes to the dire sort of situations - and like it or not, this seems like the dire sort.
“Can I come in for a quick moment? Or would you like to come out?” Falke lingers on the landing outside the door, pushing himself up against one of the piles of books to leave an empty space for Finn to come in to, if he wants. His eyes dart to Doctor Hart, aware of what she’s said in her note, but without any first hand knowledge, feels like he’s very much playing it by ear. “Or Tobi can give it to you.”
Placing a reassuring hand on Tobi's shoulder, he tries to lend her some non-verbal strength.
