She respected the starwhal, and glanced to her with a silent, almost imperceptible nod. Today was not the day that she would take action on anything she learned, but she could never rule out future action depending on how this day unfolded.

Then she is utterly and completely surprised as he turns to her - Dramyrth's rumbles became a bit more vocal at that point, as he anticipated a violent action from the man.
But no violence came. Instead, Nate began to shrink, and something almost dragon-like appeared in place of his arms - wings. Amaris took another step back, but Dramyrth, no longer growling, was intrigued, and immediately hopped down to the now-bat-formed Nate's level, his own wings spread wide as he made himself seem bigger than he was. Oh, an attuned, Amaris comfortably jumped to that conclusion, only a slight frown on her face as she considered him. "Uhm, Nathaniel? Can you hear me? Dramyrth can show you how to fly if you like. You just need to… calm down."
