Ronin’s at him immediately – him coming into the crossfire, trying to stand his ground and prevent Ronin from continuing on. But it goes poorly – exhausted and weak as he is, he’s shoved aside easily, falling into the sand and watching the star bolts zing past and hit Sam. His jaw clenches and he pushes himself back up, hearing the snarl. He feels dazed, Ronin packing a serious amount of strength in comparison to what he’s used to, especially in this state. But he has to try.

So he stands again, moving to try and grab Ronin, to push him back. This time, the partial shift erupts further, wings spreading from his back to try and help keep his balance to push the Star back, a blue glow lingering in his throat. He doesn’t want to fight Ronin, but he also realizes that it had been a mistake. “Leave him alone, Ronin.” Comes Sunjata’s growl. Melita’s attempts to stop him go relatively unnoticed, wings flared and on the defense in case Ronin tries to pursue, silently hoping that Melita doesn’t take it too personal.
