I’ll take the long way ‘round
Fog bleeds into trees that scratch at the sky and still obscure the view, though Finn doesn’t know if this is better or worse than what came before. His steps slow for a moment, as if considering that he might go around or turn back or simply... stop. Stop and stand here until all things end, and the world falls away and there’s nothing less.
But of course, in the end, Finn walks through. There was never really any doubt about it, was there? He strolls carefully through the trees, shoulders hunched, eyes peeled for any sign of movement or threat. ”Hello?” he calls, as if perhaps someone might answer.
