Suspicion contorted its way through his mind, notions of moments spent in the rain with Nephele, with the Fae who plotted Ascended destruction, to a name he’d given away to Sunjata, to a series of circumstances he’d removed himself from. His experiences in the Greatwood had varied in the passing years and seasons, but he hadn’t known the race to venture this far, into the cold, into the brutality beyond their own roots and trees.
Did he mind if she joined him? Perhaps.
