She walked on the edges, peering occasionally into stalls, waving fond greetings to the merchants she knew, pausing here and there to snag something else, offering favors, treats, and other barters in return. Before long, Lena had managed to acquire some slivers of cheese, apples, and crackers, and offered a portion of the latter towards Finn, extending them in arm’s reach, eyes back on the paths. “I always find something new to cherish there.” Whether it be an animal, set to eventually depart, another star in the forged sky, or some other grand exultation – a figment she hadn’t noticed before. Peace and serenity, tranquility and divinity, collected and created together in an immersion of bliss and refuge – she hoped anyone willing to wander within its confines felt the same signature outlook; calm, composed, and enlightened again.
A smile flickered over her face, diminished quickly as she munched, and then reappeared once she’d swallowed the food down. “So do I,” a bit wistful perhaps, tilting her head. “My sister, Seraphina, recently acquired a dragon of her own. It must be amazing, to have that sort of bond with another creature.” Lena tucked her basket back on her arm after grabbing a few more treats, layering the cheese and crackers together while they walked, and proffering them towards Finn once more. “What kind would you like, if you had a choice?” The woman knew quite a few; could always provide information she already had.
Research about Demigods caused her to narrow her eyes for a moment, gazing along Towers, and outlines of other buildings. Did the people enjoy being gawked, studied, or scrutinized? Or did it come with the territory, of being aligned with the deities and heralds? Expected, since they were already so honored and reverent? “What happens with your research?” An innocent inquiry; not quite understanding what happened after locating these divine beings. It almost sounded as if they were naught more than objects, and her heart twisted in her chest.
