The stroll continued, as did the sharing of food, proffering cheese next, quite content to peel the slices away from the basket, or to carve them around her knife. While her eyes never quite drifted to him, content to remain on the pathway, or distracted by some other nuance along the edges of the market boundaries, the kiosks always fresh and alive, her thoughts immediately meandered to the notion of the cloud wyrms. The smile enraptured, curled along her features, at the barest notion of the creatures and what Finn had heard. “Oh yes! They don’t have wings either. They slither through the air.” She paused, gaze going to the sky, as if searching for them, or perhaps peeling away at the memories, knowing full well they wouldn’t live in these parts. And then her hands made slithering gestures, coming together much like a snake, weaving along the air while she laughed and eventually ceased. “They love to collect shiny things too, so if you do visit, I suggest not bringing anything they’d like to snag.” Her head tilted, vaguely, before her gaze seemed to return to the earth, stare swinging back to him at the mention of Sera’s talents.
“That sounds nice. She’s very clever.” As if it had been all her sibling’s notion, Lena already lending credit, despite not knowing if it had been one of Finn’s notions, or her sister’s. “Will you be adding more things onto your office?”
Another piece of cheese slid into her mouth, and she munched and thought at the semblances of luxere – of glowing antlers, of their ability to pierce through the dark. “They’re drawn to singing, and can repel dark magic. Beautiful and noble, really.” Didn’t they all wish they could repel the forces of those dastardly incantations? The notions that Finn himself wouldn’t be active if permitted his own time caused the lightest arch of her brow, but she kept the rest of her inquiries to herself.
And then the fold of less brightening discourse, the shuffling of her feet on the cobblestones, the way she hung her head to listen. “What if they don’t want to go along with the Order?” A neutral tone – as Sera worked amongst and amidst the very group – a set of nerves balancing precariously along her fingers, until she wrapped them tighter around her basket.
