Swooping over, he kisses the alchemist’s forehead and tickles a finger across their son’s cheek, before lingering at the door. ”I know you will.” Starlight beams out of him as he takes one last look at them, like he can’t believe they’re real, but then he forces himself to head out.
Remi will have plenty of time to show off Mateo to Vai, and when Ronin returns the sun is listing slowly towards the horizon, Sugar is draped around his shoulders and his nimbus is laden with all things baby-related.
