Without touching either of them Remi can only guess at the motivations for what is being said (and not said). He has a good deal more insight when it comes to Ronin, and right now his best guesses about Amalia seem to be falling pitifully short.
Is this about what happened between you two? He wants to ask. Never before had Amalia clung to them in this way, but then...this was the first time her marriage had dissolved either. Was it all poor timing, or was it something more? He thought it was. That there was a need on her part that she wasn't attending to. Something that they—or at least Ronin—was a part of now. That Amalia couldn't or wouldn't give it voice, didn't make it any less of a question in the alchemist's mind.
