Nate shifts back, settling in against the cradle of wings and hands. He's comfortable here, safe and content, in a way that leaves absolutely no room for doubt. A warm smile grows over his face, Nate's eyes soft, his hands even more so as they rise, one cupping his husband's jaw, the thumb moving to run over his lip, while the other winds around the attuned's arm, reaching to press against his neck, the cool hand soothing the fresh bite marks there. "I'd go through every shitty thing in my life over and over again as long as I get to end up here." There's no exhaustion in Nate's voice, his favourite joke, but there is a crackle, a touch of roughness from the lightning.
The laugh that leaves him in response to the question has Nate laughing, the sound just as rough as his words had been. Pressing against one of the hands holding him, the ascended meets the other's gaze, his mismatched eyes sparkling. "No, no that was perfect." With a bit of effort, Nate tugs the other close, their lips almost touching when he whispers "Perfect." again, just before he leans in that last bit to press a gentler kiss to Sunjata.
