Always running his mouth, yeah he's got a few scars
Vai leans into the teasing and Nate absolutely couldn't be happier. "Don't you worry about us Vai, I'm more than creative enough for the both of us." He hadn't thought about the fact that the room was kept secret, but it doesn't affect him, not now that he's in the know. "I can't imagine why, but it works out for us. Less chance of being interrupted." Eyebrows dance as he speaks, the gesture struggling across the scarred chasm separating them.
"My nonna taught me." There's usually more hesitance in Nate's voice when he talks about himself, brings up pieces of his past, but it feels like old hat with Vai, for some reason he can't quite put his finger on. "My brother and I spent our summers with her when we were younger. Bart never had any interest in the kitchen though, so it was my job to help out." An easy shrug rolls over his shoulders, Nate brushing off the work easily and letting a smile spread over his face.
"You know, if you wanted I could teach you a few recipes." It's not as if he has any reason to be precious about them anymore, wasn't like he could benefit from them at all. "I've tried teaching Sunjata, but he's useless in the kitchen."
