& oh, poor atlas - the world's a beast of a burden
Amalia is staring at a particularly imposing gargoyle when Jyoti begins to squirm in her embrace, a familiar surge of fathomless curiosity bounding through their bond. Reluctantly the Shield turns her attention away from the bestial shape, loosening her grip on the starwhale enough for the calf to squirm free and swim through the air towards a small figure on a nearby column. At first Amalia thinks it might be a statue as well, but the creature blinks and the Shield realizes that no, this is a dragon.
"Oh, hello," she calls out warmly to the dragonet, not quite noticing the dark haired woman who accompanies the hatchling. So when the stranger does speak it's almost enough to send Amalia jumping from her skin, rosetted fur rippling down her shoulders in a brief wave, lilac locks and small blue flowers blooming in her hair. "Oh, I- sorry. Um. Yes."
It occurs to her that this is likely not how a vassal of Vi ought to present herself to her new task. Desperately Amalia straightens up, trying to affect a dignified expression. "I'm looking for, ah, a Tower? And the Order." The effort may well have succeeded, were it not for the excited humpback calf who rams against her like a bullet, slamming into Amalia's chest with a series of coos and hums. "Oof- Jyo, calm down, I know you're excited to have a new friend," Amalia murmurs, looking past her elated companion to the stranger with a sheepish smile. "Sorry, we- Jyoti gets excited easily. We've never been anywhere like this before."
