He stretches out on the bed, arms tucked behind his head, and he's just considering getting up when Morgan speaks again. They lock eyes - she sitting at the edge of the bed, he languid against the blankets, and it would be a filthy lie to say he didn't feel an accompanying prang of warmth at the idea of staying with her.
Neron had lived his life alone even before Ascending - this promise of something new, something better - it's impossible to resist.
