It wouldn't fly with the gods of course, but it was nice to imagine in theory.

"I had thought with the help of the others to make...an obvious line in the sand, so to speak." How many times had the ascended wandered through, and even the Grounders when first the barrier came down, into the Woods where they weren't welcome? "It might seem obvious at this point, but at least then no one could say they didn't know."
