Gods, she almost laughs at the saccharine innocence of his expression - almost - and only for a moment. If she were Attuned, she might have half-shifted, but as she is most definitely not, the Wraith tunes into the world around her, the familiar and the unfamiliar sounds, the disturbances in the air and the - yes the roar behind her.
Nothing good can come from that; Wessex doesn’t even wait to see what it is, assuming it has something to do with a manticore (and from Sunjata’s description, that’s a heavy nope on facing it). Better to take out the source of whatever it is, even if it leaves her back open to an attack.
Chop off the head and the body will follow.
Instead, Wessex full on sprints towards The Lullaby, releasing her own talons. She tries to lock claws - and eyes with him - then use her laser-laden gaze to stun the man. Unaware of his massive strength, she aims only for the element of speed and surprise - and this close range, she may or may not be hoping for some kind of heat damage to such a sensitive area.
