Without magic to copy, without something she can throw back in his face, the Wraith and the Lullaby seem to be stuck in a repetitive attack-dodge cycle, with neither of them able to really land something. She has no illusions about his strength, about what would happen if he catches her - so - perhaps the key is to go where he cannot? Or rather, where he least expects? Wessex tries to tell Loki what she wants the dragon to do, emphasizing that she had better be fast and come in moving so that the manticore’s tail doesn’t hit her. As she side-steps this time, narrowly avoiding the manticore’s claws and teeth, the Ascended disappers.
You know what’s funny about male lions? They’ve got big, dangling balls. They’re just… there. Hanging. Like fruit just waiting to be twisted and plucked.
She’s not going for the balls right now, they’re such a small target compared to the entirety of the abdomen, but it is what she might see when she tries to place herself underneath the manticore, head between its back legs, hoping that perhaps in the sudden confusion of her appearance there, of all places she can thrust upward with her talons and impale him.
Loki, in the mean time, attempts to act as a diversion, circling above Remi and then tucking her wings in tightly to plummet towards her bonded’s foe and hit him with an energy blast.
