sleep doesn't help if it's your soul that's tired
Finn's eyes drop away at the hint of protectiveness that sneaks through Tobi's tone, a faint smile twitching at his lips. He's not sure how to react to the caresses delivered to his fingertips, the gesture both unfamiliar and not. It doesn't take long for the feeling to trigger a memory deep within him, and his hand jerks out of hers once more. "Sorry," he mumbles with an awkward clear of his throat, the Spyglass staring off at the opposite wall by now.
He listens to her explanation with all the patience of a man on trial found guilty, and there's no rebellion in him, no outrage. "Include whatever you need to," he says with a nod. "I'll expect a meeting with Cian sooner rather than later, in the meantime."
Is it possible, he wonders, to feel more tired after overdosing on sleeping medicine? If it is, that's precisely what's happened to Finn right now. "I suppose you will need me to stay here, for observation?"
