The temple was indeed empty for the most part, Gideons sermons and events for the day over and anyone there for private prayer opting to come later. He too was counting on this, for he wanted to make sure that his secret was safe; that no one had disturbed what he had stowed away beneath the stone slabs of the temple. One of the flagstones was loose, a fact known only to the Priest, and there was a space beneath large enough to hide something.
Up until now, he'd never had a reason to use it, had mostly considered it a nuisance when it had a habit of sliding a little as people walked over it. In the last season though, it had become invaluable. Every so often he would kneel over the stone and with surprisingly gentle fingers, lift it and put it aside to pull out the box he had stored within. The box, a plain wooden affair, contained something almost blasphemous, but too valuable to the God's Plan to be kept anywhere else: vials of Ascended fluid, from Evelyn's body.
Gideon had just gotten the box out, was holding it in his hands and about to open it, when he heard someone enter. He would not have the time to replace the box and the stone, the sound of it would be an obvious giveaway; rather uncharacteristically for the Priest, he didn't know what to do - fortunately, he soon realised the visitor was one of their Demi Gods. Surely he would approve gladly of what Gideon had done, unlike Amalia; Ronin had seemed more reasonable.
"Oh, do come in. I was just...moving some things." He said, looking down at the box in his hands on his lap and the dark hole of the removed stone next to him, knowing it looked suspicious; maybe he could convince Ronin this was some kind of Stormbreak tradition?
