Curiosity killed the Outlander

JEREMY I picked up a bar tab and drank myself stupid; I flirted with strangers just to feel attractive "No, of course not. Magic's just for kid's stories." Jeremy was going to have to come to terms with all of this gradually, and accepting magic as real was not on the docket for the day. He was already having to deal with the fact that Phoebe had apparently not heard of Oxford, one of the most famous cities in the world. Her saying she'd lost all of her family shut him up being stubborn, at least for now. She was so young - she seemed to be dealing with this better than he. Jeremy pinched the bridge of his nose and leaned down, trying to gather himself. He didn't want to give up on getting out quite yet, but it seemed like all he would be doing would be whining if he kept asking. "...Thanks. I'll try be outta here in the next couple days." He'd always been quick to adapt, so if he was stuck here for the moment he was sure he could find better lodgings soon. "What...is this building, anyhow? You a nurse or something?" Jeremy took a bite out of the muffin, trying to ignore how it was really too hot to eat. He needed the distraction of an easier conversation for a moment while he tried to swallow the need to scream.
