Well, something was going awry.Melita had expected they’d wage a little skirmish – blow for blow, laugh for laugh, leap for leap, assailment for assailment – but it wasn’t turning out the way she’d pictured the notions. Instead, Aurelia seemed to be visibly, and mentally, falling apart (though the honeybee did take a moment to check and make sure her hair wasn’t on fire). The hand that grabbed hold of her arm needn’t have done so, the youth had already stilled, taking hold of both their weights in her grounded, stalwart stature.
The staff went nowhere, staying enclosed by her calloused palm, her own brows coming together, a rare stillness coming over her form. If she ceased and desisted, would anything change? “Are you all right?” She shook her head, merely to showcase that her locks weren’t in flames, that nothing else was happening, in between the marks of telltale confusion.
