His growing headache is a constant distraction. The cold, too, seeps right through his clothes now he has rid himself of the cloak. He concentrates to keep from shivering, slowly tensing and relaxing the muscles in his limbs. Allowing only steady breaths to fill his chest.
He listens to the talk of the underground, of the strange horrors waiting for him farther in, but he makes no comment. It all sounds terrible. Does he really wish to explore this place…? But of course, if he wants to leave, he must.
