And here he was thinking things were going kind of okay between the two of them. Guess not! And he's only playing of course, well, maybe not but still. He didn't want to upset her. But her reaction is kinda.. nice in a weird fucked up way. She does want him to come back. Even if it's just to play cards and she really did keep them. Would make him feel warm and fuzzy inside if their interactions weren't bought and sold.

His eyes narrow just slightly, jaw clenching just a bit, the only things really giving away how he feels before he rolls his eyes. "I'll make you a deal, Maeve." He draws her name out, making a point of saying each syllable slowly, clearly. "I'll come back, I'll pay you. And instead of doing what I want, we'll do what you want. Okay? Just cards? Sex? Make me clean the floor? Whatever you want. But-" There's always a but, isn't there?
"We gotta finish this damn shopping."
