I'll stay here, Arialla replied telepathically. I still want to explore with the encantados, if they'll have me, and if this is the kind of mischief they're getting up to today, perhaps I'd better keep an eye on them.
She wasn't sure the encantados would welcome her back, after she'd spoiled their game, but the day was young and the sun was bright -- even if they rejected her, she could still enjoy the sea for a good while yet.
I hope the rest of your trip is a bit calmer, Arialla added, a smile in her mental voice -- and, of course, one plastered over her dolphin's face, but that was permanent. I'm sure we'll meet again under drier circumstances someday.
And with that, she took her leave of Ray, returning to the ocean -- after jumping out of the water, just to show off, though she didn't quite trust her recently-acquired shift enough to try a flip yet.
