MAEVE
That smile that was on her lips falters and her brows knit together in clear confusion as she meets her gaze. Maeve visibly wilts. The kiss pressed to her palm feels muted in comparison to the others Aurelia had graced her skin with. It feels like a rejection even with the promise that's weaved into her words. 'This was all for you.' Didn't she know she wasn't trying to do it because she was obligated? She wants to. Desperately. Just because it's her job to provide pleasure doesn't mean that this, what's happening between them right now, is work. It isn't. That's the point. That this is more than work. It's personal. At least, it is for her and she's fairly sure it is for Aurelia too. Maeve sighs softly, letting her gaze drops almost demurely as she tucks herself against Aurelia instead. Her throat is only a hint tight when she speaks, "Okay..." She tries to be okay with it because it's Aurelia and she likes her. She wants to make her happy. Maeve doesn't pull her hand away from the smuggler, pressing her lips into a thin line as her face nuzzles against her chest instead. "I might not get to see you before you leave..." She murmurs into her skin, lips brushing across the scarred flesh lightly as her hand slips over her hip and curls there. Her thumb passes back and forth over the jut of her bone as she fidgets, trying to ignore that tightness that's forming in her chest.
Maybe that's what hurts the most. Is that Aurelia is leaving and she might not have the chance to dote upon her before she does. They've only just accepted that there are feelings here. An attraction. Only to have to put everything on pause once the smuggler returns to the sea. The fear of being forgotten weighs heavy in her stomach and she tries to keep from equating to being abandoned. That's not what's happening here, but it brings up memories she'd rather forget. Her body stiffens almost imperceptibly against Aurelia as she draws in a breath that barely expands her lungs in an attempt to center herself.
