It's a strange conundrum in which you try to be as giving as possible, and still it ends up selfish somehow. Aurelia feels a twinge of guilt at the way Maeve reacts, and the feeling frustrates her a little. To leave her disappointed isn't the intention. In some fashion, she always has to get something wrong, doesn't she? But she's stubborn, set in her decision, and doesn't waver even if Maeve pouts and whimpers out a sentiment Aurelia is unprepared for.She relaxes back against the pillows, one arm snaking beneath Maeve to hug her in close and let her nestle in. For now, they can stay here. Aurelia rests her eyes and sighs, long and drawn out, not quite ready to respond to that yet. She lets the burn between her thighs subside with the lull of the ocean waves from somewhere outside, and with the release of it in comes everything else again. Thoughts of the Ark's impending voyage, of Milo coming along with them, of Jack and Melita, vaguely wondering how things will end up. But a grin parts her lips.
"Distance makes the heart grow fonder, or something like that," she teases lightly, squeezing Maeve's shoulder, but her eyes are still shut. "What are you so worried about?" Now her gaze peers down at Maeve, head tilting down to make it easier to observe the emotion eminent in her muted body language. "Didn't you know? Everything will... be okay," her voice takes on a gentle confidence. She might be comforting herself just as much as Maeve in this instance. Her grin disappears and she swallows down her doubts, "it has to be."
