MAEVE
They lay there in silence and the whole time she's scolding herself for being so silly. It's fine. There will be a next time. There has to be, right? Aurelia wants her just as much and this pit in her stomach is ridiculous. Except the feeling lingers no matter how many times she repeats the mantra to herself in her head. Maeve takes a deep breath, eyes flicking up to Aurelia's for a split second as the other woman adjusts herself to look at her, but she drops them a moment later. Instead choosing to study one of the many scars her fingers are tracing over. "I'm not worried about something happening to you. I know you'll be okay." She does know that. Aurelia is strong and capable. She can take care of herself and she will be okay. Things will be okay. Except they aren't because she's leaving for a season and Maeve is going to miss her. "It's stupid, really." She mutters, cheeks flushing prettily as she worries her bottom lip between her teeth. The girl tries to muster up the courage to admit what she's feeling. To give a name to this tightness in her chest that comes from being left behind.
"I- I guess I'm worried you'll forget about me. You'll be gone for however long with the crew and... I told you it's stupid." Maeve shakes her head, burying her face against Aurelia's neck to press a gentle kiss there. She draws in a deep breath, taking in the scent of the other woman's skin. Salt and a sweet musk that fills her nose as she inhales deeply, "I swear I'm not clingy. I just.. I wanted to do something for you too. Give you something to remember me by."
