You win a lot, but you lose just a little bit more than you gained in the end
Nates stare lingers on the Demi-god as she offers her explanation, some small amount of self preservation keeping him from protesting further. No need to start a fight, to point out that it feels like him too. Warm shadow should feel welcome by to any ascended, but that didn’t change the fact that he had staked his claim first.

With a frustrated huff, Nate focused back on the bag, on the table, as the next instruction is whispered into his ear, a lovers murmur. He had a few guesses for what lingered in the bag, though Wessex earns another glance, and a raised brow, with what she says. Truth be told, his first guess is also an umbrella of some kind, though the size knocks it out of the running right away.

So that leaves him with his second guess, doesn’t it? ”Liquor.” A smooth rumble, and an ironic prize, if he’s right, but hey, you could never have enough, could you? With his guess made, the ascended turns to find Sunjata again, his head cocked. What’s in your bag then babe? He asks the question like a joke, though he hasn’t exactly figured out how it’s funny himself yet.

Nate guesses liquor!

i am baby
Locke gives him a look but doesn't have a chance to respond before the table is urging them further, whisking away his old choice before he can pick it again. Guess? Guess what it is? Why does this have to be so complicated? And where is the vendor.. Or.. Locke shrugs to himself. It's not really important. He's got a question to solve.Let's see.. Starry sky and smells of the ocean. He licks his lips. "A seashell?" You could cup the water in it and it would be reflective, right? On a starry night? He's not sure what else it could be so he just kind of nods, finalizing his answer.

Maeve

Guess. The word echoes through her mind and she looks down at the box, brows knitting together. Red, humming, and the scent of flowers. What could it actually be? She hears Melita offer the answer 'perfume' and she thinks it's a good guess. The humming reminds her of bees buzzing through the garden at the Halenani. The smell reminiscent of the honeysuckle that Phoebe was so fond of growing. It makes her think of honey spread on warm croissants, mixing with melted butter and spreading sweet over her tongue.

Maeve smiles softly at the thought of afternoon tea on the porch with Phoebe and she has her answer. "Honey. I think it's honey." She finally says with a decisive nod. Whether or not that is true will be revealed, but she feels good with her answer.

better get to diggin' while my body's getting cold.
i keep tryna fight it so just promise when i go, you'll bury me low
Items disappear and suddenly it’s just these that they’re left with. The scent remains, something about the ocean screaming back at him to think about what might be underneath it. He’s so distracted, in fact, that he doesn’t notice Nate and Wessex’s conversation, doesn’t notice Melita’s and the rest of them. Instead, all he can do is focus on what might be within it, with the tug of the Table asking what he thought it was.

He even forgets that Locke’s there for a moment.

He’s silent as he hears Locke’s suggestion, so close to his own and yet so different. “Coral.” He offers, with an avian tilt of his head at the sparkling bag. Coral made sense, right? Colorful and vibrant like the night sky, yet still living beneath the ocean.

Either that or it’s a dead fish. I said coral but I’m really hoping it’s not just some dead jellyfish or something. He murmurs back to Nate, glancing back at his husband with an amused pulse down the bond.
SUNJATA
No permission needed for power play!
Feel free to use magic/force on Sunjata, without killing him <3
Sunjata speaks with an Australian accent and has a passive magic that makes him produce a subtle scent that matches exactly to whatever those around him most desire him to smell like.

the night market
What lovely guesses you've made, children. Not one of them correct, but The Table does not seem to care. It bases its gifts on the accuracy of your guess, but something else unqualifiable almost as if it were random.

Jack's guess satisfies The Table, or perhaps it just wants to prove the old Captain wrong. His shiny blue bag fades away, revealing a ghost whale tooth. Or at least, a good facsimile of one.

The red humming box seems to waver, but it is for Maeve that it opens, revealing its prize: a lovely harmonica that will make no sound audible to the human ear, but one very appealing to bees.

Rigby's mature yo momma joke has The Table giggling. His box, too, opens up, revealing a beautifully carved comb. It will leave his curls looking absolutely flawless, at the price of being haunted af.

Theo's glowing box contains a well-packaged bottle of rich golden whiskey. It will taste delicious, and leave you hiccupping for an hour after the first sip.

As for the rest of you? I'm afraid it isn't your lucky day (or maybe it is, who knows). Your squabbling does nothing to impress The Table, and when the packages in front of you open up, they are utterly empty but for the faint smell of farts. Ew.

And with that, The Table is done. The room opens back up into the rest of the market, and you are free to go your merry ways. Wasn't that fun!

This event is done! Congratulations to those who got items, they will be added to your profiles. Whether or not a prize was won was determined by random dice roll.
Code blatently stolen from queen of codes, Sky!
