Leaving a gentle kiss against the side of Remi's neck, he closes his eyes. "I choose you," he mumbles. He doesn't make it sound easy or without conflict, because Sunjata is his friend, and to discard that so easily would just be another bandaid. "I care more about whether you're alright than whether Nate and Sunjata are," he admits. "And I didn't tell you or show you that enough before. But it's true. I don't want it to come to that, but if it does?" He blinks his eyes open and smiles. "I'm on your side."
