Maeve
If it wasn't for the sounds of exertion behind her she would have thought that he left with the quiet that surrounds them. Nothing but the sound of sand filling bags and waves crashing in the distance to keep them company. Her thoughts are a jumbled mess and she's lost in them. Maeve wipes the sweat from her brow, straightening up and rubbing at the small of her back where an ache is already starting to from from the heavy lifting. She doesn't even realize he's moved until his fingers are suddenly brushing over her shoulder. Maeve turns quickly to face him, eyes wide in surprise, but her expression softens instantly at his apology. She catches his hand before he can pull away, giving it a squeeze as her head tilts back to look up at him. "I know... You're hurting."
