there's a feeling i get when i look to the west,
& my spirit is crying for leaving.

For all the poetry in motion that Hotaru allows herself to see, for the Lullaby, there is only death. Remi does not allow the creature to linger in life any longer than it needs to; no part of his primitive nature enjoys the death throes of another, despite what some might whisper behind his back. So while he won't deny that the pump of blood that still is full of living static is one his tongue yearns for, his mighty jaws do powerfully close, and with a shake of his head, the beast's neck snaps.

Perhaps it will be surprising to Hotaru, or perhaps not, that the beast before her suddenly shrinks down to a man properly dwarfed by the enormity of the ursur as well as what he'd just been. His wings are all that remain of the manticore-shift, save for the flecks of primal hunger in Remi's sea-glass stare as he turns.

Drenched in blood that soaks into the leather jacket he wears, it takes a moment for the bloodlust that sings from within his bones to release its siren-grip of his mind enough for him to recognize the woman before him. "Oh, it is you." He mumbles, his boyish confusion at incongruous odds with the show of force and violence just moments ago displayed.
