this is the reckoning
At the inclination of fire brimming and burning along the foreground of snow and ice, back home, the beast managed another rumble of laughter – unbidden and untethered. A sigh flickered and volleyed back through thereafter, as if perhaps a little saddened, a little burdened, that he wouldn’t ever actually commit to such a thing.

But he offered no fight for the prized feather possession, snorting along the bond, presuming Aisha would need it, want it, flaunt it, for her upcoming, rising guild. The hound waited too – in the midst of things that could become venomous, poisonous, lethal - but when no toxins seemed to barrage, contort, or unfurl from her form, he gave it a shrug. Perhaps I was wrong. A quick inward smirk lingered there; it wouldn’t have been the first, nor the last, time he’d been heralded in the platitudes.

Regardless, they’d finished what they’d set out to do – explored, been swept away to another area to venture forth, hunted, and sought out some more information, research bases and purposes, for the books within Halo. With nothing more to do, other than get into more mischief, it only seemed more fair, more certain, to rally back towards familiar outlines and portals. Yes, he acknowledged and agreed, before hastening to the skies, shifting, altering, back into eagle platitudes. There, aloft amidst the canopies, he waited for the bat to follow suit, and then start the journey onwards, towards salt and sea.
