Finn's eyes widen to hear all the details laid out so plainly, but then again that's exactly the reason he's been brought here to Torchline - to get this information. "Oh," he says softly. "But at least you have Kamaria, right?" He tilts his head, wondering whether Torchline's governor really has given his all to Safrin only to end up with nothing. It both breaks the Spyglass's heart and makes him feel nothing at all, to think of things being that way for Sunjata. Such is the way of snapdragon, and the role he's been forced into.

Furrowing his brow, he makes a show of relaxing more bonelessly against the other man, letting his gaze swim and his fingers tingle and his mind race through possibilities and meanings. But then the Flood is asking him a question, and he smiles to himself. "I would pick Safrin, of course," he says - and it's both Finn and Thomas saying it. "It's as you already put it - she's done so much for Torchline. The Voice has done nothing. And if you were still governor, there's no reason to believe she wouldn't keep this place as safe as possible. Especially with Kamaria here."

Looking up, he nods to Sunjata. "I think most of the islands would agree," he says. "You've got almost all of Torchline standing behind you, even if you feel like sometimes you're alone. Remember that."
