The big cat is spread out on a massive rock, warmed as though by sunlight despite the endless twilight that permeates this place. In the way of all felines she is only half-asleep, still and peaceful but not quite given in fully to her doze. She's chosen this place because of its relative seclusion from the main paths, a little garden of bright pink flowers that give off a truly delightful smell. She doesn't expect to be bothered here.
But of course, as time and experience have shown, Amalia is often wrong.
The twitching end of a long tail and the flicker of an ear are the only signs she detects the boy's approach. Amalia considers simply remaining still, seeing if the child will pass by without remark- but of course Jyoti has other ideas. With a low croon the starwhale squirms out from under a massive paw, swimming eagerly through the air to circle the young boy. Amalia whuffs a tired sigh in response, yawning widely enough to display a mouth full of massive teeth. Go on, make friends, her body seems to say. I am taking a nap.
