NEPHELE
Whether it’s the terror wearing off or the pain Nephele isn’t sure, but she jolts back into her body with a fierceness that leaves her disoriented. The damning whistle doesn’t need to reach her ears before she’s already pinning her wings close to her spine to try and shield them from further damage. “What are you doing to me?!” she screeches, forcing her hands to unclench and release her chakrams so they can remain hidden in her sleeves. Wessex may be hiding her talents well, but Nephele is just racist enough to blame the two of them regardless of proof. Luckily wings do not have too many nerve endings, but she stumbles backwards towards the glow behind her all the same, torn between actions but desiring more solid ground.
The boundary (or Wessex’s power?) may toss her from the tower again if she backs up too far, but she never lets her eyes leave the Ascended as they climb, digging her nails into her palm to force herself to not reveal the enchanted weapons she longs to use. No, she’ll either hit the barrier and be flung away where she can escape with her tattered wings into the trees, or she’ll get a good kick to the face of whoever surfaces first, and hope to break something in return for them corrupting whatever power lays behind her. But she’s going to be petty about it now that her mind is returned, and she scrabbles for any last vestige of magic to summon laughter and mockery from the air around them to try and make Wessex seem like she’s belittling Nate for his response.

Nephele pins her wings down, backs up away from Wessex and Nate towards the glow, and prepares to kick one of them in the face when they surface then try and retreat. She also uses her illusion magic to try to mimic the sound of Wessex laughing for the sole purpose of pissing off Nate.
