It isn’t what she expects the Voice to open with - and then Wessex catches herself with a mental reprimand that she really shouldn’t expect anything of her Lady. Any predictability, other than caring and kindness towards her children, should actually probably be alarming. Still, she isn’t expecting to see this.
And then to be asked if she enjoys the discus - turned chakram, which, make no mistake, her eyes brighten at the sight of it and she smiles in a way that feels so out of sorts in the solemnity of what a blood-washed scene should feel like. “I do,” Wessex replies eagerly. “It’s fun in the way that the bow and blade aren’t. Exotic.” Novel. And the Wraith is all about the new experiences.
“This -” she nods towards the blood. “Was it over the years? Or a single incident?”
