Well, she's got him there, and Finn's eyes crinkle at the corners as he watches her explain; despite his currently miserable state, Tobi still shines like the sun overhead, warming his bones and smoothing out the shadows from his skin. "A deaf person would confuse it quite easily," he remarks; it's a poor attempt and they both likely know it, but it's all Finn's got right now. And so it's no surprise that he responds to her question with a succinct, "Perhaps not," and hides his smile beneath the sheets.

"Gods, not again," he mutters, sweat beading on his forehead as pain rocks through his body.
