Gideon came down the steps once a week to make sure the graves were well kept, the stairs were not in need of repair and honestly, to sit and look out over the water for a while. He stopped dead in his tracks, halfway down the stairs, when he saw a figure stood at the gates, obviously trying to see over them. Usually, Gideon would have rushed down and given the intruder quite the lecture; what stopped him was the sudden overwhelming rush of love he felt for this child from Safrin. It seemed recently he had been meeting many of the Goddesses chosen. Hurrying, but not as much as he would be otherwise, he went to stand a few feet behind her.
"This isn't for the public." He said, loudly but softly. "Please don't lean on the gate; it's very old. Are you lost?"
