Starbolts would blow chunks out of the ice rather than melt it, so the Star resorts on a partial phoenix shift to do the job. One arm becomes a large swathe of fiery feathers, and golden pinions curl out beneath his coat as well to leave melting snow in their wake. "Do you think we'll be able to see through it, once it starts to heat up?" he wonders.
