Wessex laughs at Nate’s indignant yell, thinking that it's time they learn to stop trying to fight fair. Something tickles the back of her feet, enough to make her mis-step and end up hopping ungracefully, arms wheeling, trying to regain her balance. She manages to not tumble forward, and hopefully keeps her lead whilst reaching deep for some more speed.
Somewhere inside, her competitiveness has been activated and like hell she’ll let Nate win.
