For all the trouble they've had up until this point, things finally begin to go smoothly. The slabs of obsidian settle into the grooves that have been dug out for them, leaning apart and catching each other in the tension of the wire woven around them. Nate holds his breath uselessly as he steps back, gesturing for Varus and Jack to do the same, waiting a moment to see if they topple apart. And then another. And another.
After a handful of them, Nate finally seems to decide that the new shrine isn't going to come crashing down anytime soon, some rogue park of pride brightening his face and his grin as he claps his hands. "Look at that boys." Both hands reach out, clapping Jack and Varus on the shoulders before he turns, stepping back towards the entrance to check on Sam's progress.
The bookmaker's daydreaming hands have done the job well, a protective wall built up to help mitigate the danger of rising and falling tides. The walls are sturdy, and there's enough room for one to pull up out of the water without immediately running into it. "Perfect, Sam." Once again, his hand comes out, though it lands on the back of Sam's neck instead of his shoulder, squeezing fondly and helping him upright again.
" Thanks for your help. Everyone. Sorry about uh," Nate waves his hand, "y'know." A bright laugh leaves him, his mood suddenly leagues better now that everything's done. His hand swings out, gesturing towards the exit, Nate waiting until he can bring up the rear.
