A family of lemurs took their residence in a nearby tree; unaware of the jaguar, blending and blurring its form in and amongst the branches. To them, this was any ordinary day – several of them grooming one another, content in the sultry, humid heat, the younger ones scampering around, hooting and hollering, on the longest bough.
It seemed to be some sort of daring game – one in particular launching from a glorious height, stretching out his arms, his tail, and then catching ahold of another branch. Several of the smaller lemurs tried the same, each gaining in bravado, turning to the next in line – goading onward.
Which, was probably very, very foolish.
