The magic of the person she collides with is similarly meager, perhaps more so with how hers outstrips his own. The contact itself is brief, though she worriedly caresses her stomach all the same. With how many children she has lost, they’ve never been lost in the womb, and she doesn’t want it to happen before she can see Frey. Hotaru is her own worst enemy while she’s pregnant - her own body both a target and a vessel.

The young man is recognizable at least from the games they’d played last season, though they’d never been introduced. “No, no I think we’re fine. Just…overly paranoid,” she laughs weakly, a little embarrassed by her reaction. Only then do his previous words register. “You’ve been shocked often?
