Almost immediately, Maeve's recounting of the meeting with Safrin had Seren's smile fade. With Sunjata's name brought up, and Nate's, and the matter of their governing the land of her birth suddenly put into question, it would perhaps be stranger to see her continually cheerful.
"I... that, is a lot to take in," she murmured eventually, when Maeve quieted. Bringing the refilled cup to her lips, Seren sipped, gut heavy with unease. It seemed that ever since the fire, things were only getting worse in Torchline. Or possibly, the incident served to highlight flaws and issues that had always been there.
"What are you going to do?" she asked, giving herfriend a long look. "With... everything?" One person to offer aid. One region to... aid? Overtake? Seren did not envy her this dilemma.
