"Sorry," Amalia replies sheepishly to Ronin's commentary on her rudeness, reaching up with slender fingers to rub the back of her neck. "It's... been a minute since I did any real socializing, I guess."
Busying herself with closing and barricading any open windows she can find, Amalia listens thoughtfully to Ronin's ideas, keen hearing picking up his voice from across the room. "I've found things about champions," she confirms, frowning as she threads a broom between the handles of some shutters before heading toward the final open window, "But not enough to be really helpful. I, I'd been thinking about going back to Safrin's library if I can get into the Grounds, but-- ack!"
The reason for this exclamation is immediately made clear. As she reaches for the final set of shutters, Amalia's attempts to barricade are interrupted by a veritable avalanche of hissing gourds. Orange and green, long and stout, they slam through the window in a massive wave, their vines grabbing at the surprised demigoddess and their teeth (?) snapping at her face. It's all too much, and Amalia and the gourds go tumbling down in a mess of guts and limbs, leaving the window open for further onslaught as this contingent makes its attack.
