He can feel her lips brush against his throat and Sunjata swallows a bit harder than anticipated, her name aired quietly, a whisper of sound as she lifts up her head and he can feel how the rest of her presses against him with the movement. Her fingers are at his collarbone, slipping up and up, ghostlike in their touch to his longer, dark hair, and she trails off his name in a way that has him quiet for a moment longer, debating how to even start.
His steel meets her jade, the attuned working his jaw. “We can’t.” He says softly, pulling his arms away from her so that he might be able to sit up on his elbows on the couch, not making a move of getting up yet. Instead, he’s simply propped up, her hand in his hair, his shirt ruffled and bunched in places. “You’re pregnant.” He says at first, debating of whether or not what he wants to say next is even a good idea. So he keeps it tucked behind his teeth, sucking on them as he exhales slowly.
He thinks the circumstances are slightly different in regards to what happened in Flowerbirth, because at the very least Sunjata was still married to Nate, that this was a way he typically coped and it was something that Nate knew before. For Locke? Would it be seen as a means of Maeve moving on? He wasn't here for her to work, at least not in her profession's regard.
And aside from that? It had been nothing more but a means to distract, to forget, no strings attached on his end. He doesn't know if it's the same for her.
